En slovaque, « pletenec » semble le mot le plus adéquat pour traduire le mot français « entrelacs ».
« Pletenec is defined as an ornament consisting of regularly interwoven lines or strips and inspired by nets, laces or mesh (for example basketry). It can be plastic (stone, wood or metal) or flat (mosaic, painting, drawing) and can be applied as a strip or area. It was used on buildings, tombstones, ornaments and jewellery as well as in book painting. Quite often in Slovak texts an adjective form is used – “pletencový ornament” or “pletencový motív”. »
